Brilliantly argued points, a little leaning towards American culture for my POV but all in all a great book which delves nicely into the arguments of snowflake critics and why the use of the word is often oxymoronic.

Challenging and informative, ‘We Need Snowflakes’ delves into the genesis of the term, and discusses the weaponisation and true meaning of the term, as well as the attributes of a “typical” snowflake and why the “younger generation “ is so often derided as thus.
An interesting, well researched and informative read, and great fuel for robust debates with relatives at your next family gathering.

Easiest 5 stars I've given in a while. Never resonated with or needed a book as badly as this one. I remember seeing the title of the book in a store and just buying it immediately, no questions asked. My gut instinct has never been this right.

Liked the idea of the book. A lot of discussions of tedious culture war stuff. Liked the sections on trauma and workers rights.

What a fantastic argument for ‘snowflakes’! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was so interesting to consider how sensitivity and people working towards a more united front could be so politicised. Hannah Jewell brings some really astonishing facts and some good anecdotes to help her, which I really enjoyed. I’ve highlighted a few parts on my Kindle; this one stuck with me in particular. ‘To be a snowflake is to be a lifelong student, and to have the tenacity to keep on learning about yourself and the world, even when it makes you u comfortable’. 👏🏼 I wanted more to this book, which is why I gave it 4.5 stars, but I’d still really recommend it to people looking for a very current read! 🥰
