I love this series and forever will, but this wasn’t my favorite. It was between 3.5 and 4 stars so I’m rounding up to 4. I both loved and hated the fact that Artemis had a psychological illness throughout this book. On one hand, it made for a very interesting story because it showed Artemis’ guilt for some of his past actions. But on the other, I really enjoy Artemis and wish he was in this book more. The great side characters like Holly and Butler were highlighted, but Artemis has always been one of my favorites.

This was an action packed story, and I’ve always enjoyed this series, but I’ve enjoyed the others more. It’s definitely worth the read and the series as a whole has been an amazing experience to revisit.

This series is two drawn out. The first 3-4 books were good, and then it just got repetitive. It’s gotten to the point where you just pushed through it to finish the series cause you’ve already committed to many books.

I don't know if I'm supposed to be excited or not that I'm almost done with this series. It's also a bit weird how I just stopped at book 6 last time as well. Not sure why I ghosted Artemis... but I do plan to see how this series is going to end. I'm prepared - bring in on.

The Atlantis Complex is the seventh installment of the Artemis Fowl Series. Just like the previous book, it was okay. Not necessarily my favorite but it was an interesting take on Artemis. Especially when it comes to his alter ego (in a way) Orion. I mean, Orion basically had no filter whatsoever and was friendly. Which was a complete shock to everyone who knows Artemis.

So, yeah, I laughed a little here and there but I was confused about something. Okay, so for some weird reason I kept thinking Holly was a lot older than Artemis.. and yet, they like each other. Like have a crush on one another now? Am I missing something? Did I drink too much wine during the last book?

Not sure how I feel about that.. but maybe the next book will leave me with less questions and confusion. Hopefully.

A great book (as all Artemis Fowl stories are), but I felt it could have been better. It seemed kind of... short, or incomplete. The story just didn't feel satisfactory. I like how they brought back Turnball Root from the Artemis Fowl Files though.

I really enjoyed myself with that book! I know that 5 stars are possibly too much for it and I definately don't think it was a literary masterpiece, but it made me laugh by myself so much that it made me love it! I found Orion rediculously funny and missed him through the second half and found all the bickering among the group a lot more enjoyable in this book! But I have to admit most of all I loved the fact that it made me believe it was building the road to an Artie-Holly relationship with Turnbull and Eleanor. I never expected something like that ever happening and was really shocked when Holly kissed Artemis in the time paradox and it was obvious that this book was building up to more kissing..

SPOILER ALERT(FOR THE NEXT BOOK IN THE SERIES)!

And of caurse was too dissapointed when Colfer seemed to have forgotten all about this book when he was writting tha Last guardian...

Atlantis Complex is, in the Artemis Fowl series, a fairy-based psychosis that develops in guilt-ridden criminals. And, for this entry into the series, Artemis is in the grips of the complex and had been for a while.

SpoilerHow long it had been since the last book is unclear. A few weeks? A few months? I’m not entirely certain. But it was enough time for him to explain everything to his mother and create something to SAVE THE WORLD. Supposedly. As well as develop Atlantis complex. In the middle of all of this, Artemis is about to unveil his project–The Project, as he calls it–to his fairy friends in an effort to get their help with his Project.

But things don’t go Artemis’s way. between the Atlantis Complex and the older brother of the late Julius Root causing problems, Artemis’s project seems to be all but forgotten in favour of solving the latest catastrophe of the fairy kind. Colfer addresses a type of fairy-human interaction we’ve seen hints of between Artemis and Holly. It makes me wonder if those two would ever end up like Leonor and Turnball Root.

While the previous books enforce the theme of good triumphing over evil–even, to an extend, in the first where Artemis has a change of heart–The Atlantis Complex departs from it. With only one book in the series following it, I suspect this is the only one that will resolve the conflict in such a bittersweet way. However, Colfer’s attempt at pushing humour in through the stage 2 manifestation of Atlantis syndrome is a little forced. It might have been better to simply have Artemis stuck obsessing over numbers and growing more and more paranoid rather than adding in multiple personality disorder to the mix.

Still, I will continue to the end with The Last Guardian. Hopefully a reasonable amount of time has passed for Artemis to be rid of his Atlantis complex.

This series is kind of getting tired and old. Luckily there's just one more til the end.
