What to say about Oblomov? At various points in this book, it could have been given anywhere from 2-5 stars. Some parts, such as when Goncharov is waxing eloquent about Oblomov's childhood life (the dream) or trying to do some amateur philosophizing, it's definitely 2 star material. Other times, such as when he's exploring the relationship with Olga or introducing the characters, it's 5 stars. The first section - aside from the dream - made me think, and the interaction between the various visitors was amusing. The section with Olga made me think and appreciate what Goncharov could do. The rest? Meh.
