I honestly am only familiar with Leslie Jordan thanks in part to social media - specifically his famous skit/quote : What y’all doing? Screwing? So when I found out about his sudden passing, there was a part of me that gravitated toward finding out more about this man who was gone too soon. Although this book is only a small part of him (barely 210 ish pages) it was enough to make appreciate he was able to tell his fans about his Tennessee upbringing and acting career. His sense of humor, honesty, humbleness and ability to acknowledge when he needs to listen not talk when it comes to bipoc issues really helped me feel hope for the 65 plus generation that not all of them are close minded. He did speak about his sexuality but nothing personal when it came to relationships(which I was fine with.)
