It's strange to read about the life of someone shortly after they pass and learn so much about them that you didn't know before. I'm happy that I was able to learn more about Leslie Jordan, as I did not know much about him or his life. This book has some great reminders about authenticity, kindness, and loving the life you've been given. I enjoyed Leslie sharing stories about his southern upbringing and much more. It sounds weird, but I love the way he talked! He was so hilarious, humble and had a heart of gold. This book seemed scattered and the stories were not arranged in an order that I understood. I also found myself uninterested in some of the stories and realized I wasn't paying attention. Overall, if you loved Leslie Jordan, you'll love this book-- especially the audiobook with his narration :)

I knew I had a long week of work so I wanted something light to listen to during my commute. I browsed through the Libby app and saw this was available and snagged it. This was exactly what I wanted. Leslie narrates the audiobook so it was just several hours of him telling me stories about his life, which were told in a humorous and sweet way. You can't help but fall in love with Leslie as you listen. There were times this book hit exceptionally hard, like when he talked about all of his plans for the future and what he still wanted to do in his life, knowing that he has recently passed.

This book counts for Popsugar 2023 for a book about or set in Hollywood.

"Happiness is a choice, happiness is a habit and happiness is something you have to work hard at. It does not just happen."

Oh boy, I loved this. I highly recommend the audiobook because it's so immersive hearing Leslie tell these stories of his life. He gives his wise words, funny memories, sad retellings and everything in between. Real shame about his death. Such a light in this dark universe. Fun and quick listen.

"So to all my dear new friends, this is not goodbye forever. It's only goodbye for now. Goodbye til I get revved up and ready to launch into a whole bunch of new stories. See you then."
