“I didn’t think love had a taste, but it did. In each decadent parting of my lips with his tongue, I tasted his love for me. I tasted want and desire, but more than that, I tasted adoration and reverence. In each of his worshipful kisses, I was able to savor the sweetness of love and the promise of our future.”

This paragraph summarizes this novel for me.

I love love LOVED the first book and I love Danielle Allen but I couldn’t finish this book. It just wasn’t giving me more on them as characters and it also seemed like they were different people. It could be because of the dynamic changing but I just wasn’t a fan so stopped reading

“God Julian…” I let my eyes flutter closed. “Your words feed my spirit.” “And yours, my soul,” he whispered in response.

This is the second book in The One Series Duet and I loved it so much. I would have been happy with how the first book ended, but this book really drove it home.

This highlights the different troubles and obstacles relationships go through and the power of communication and really being a team with your significant other. This was really beautiful to read especially because you never get to read about BIPOC couples that have a healthy relationship.

There is also a reunion in this book and ya'll know how reunion episodes are. THE DRAMA AND CHAOS. But Julian and Zoe always pull through because they are and always will be endgame.

This duet was my favorite read of July 2021!

Unique experience

This series provides a very unique experience. I loved following the reality TV special that amplified the idea that real love exists. Zoe and Julian were indeed a perfect match, and it showed in the way they loved and in the way they fought. SN: I really wanted to see somebody beat Leah up.

Ugh! I really wanted to love this series because I love Danielle Allen's work. It just didn't do it for me. The second part was really cheesy.

Love a good romance

Julian and Zoe are one of my favorite couples. Their beginning was magically and their ending was sweet. I loved it
