This one wasn't as good as the first 8, it lacked the spookiness and thrills the other books had. With the others, even though they're targeted towards children, they still had this creepy vibe, this one wasn't creepy at all, which sucked. I'm hoping book 10 is better than this. - R.C.

I am loving the growth of these characters - and the illustrations!
Friends working together, overcoming obstacles, creative problem solving. Just so well done.
Ms Winter plans an art auction to help fund new art supplies - Sam can barely finish his clay T Rex on time. After class, Sam is dragged up stairs to a wall - with bricks easily moved. He discovers a secret room - and Orson Eerie's secret self portrait.
Realizing Orson is using the art show to gain power outside of the school, they must come up with $100 to purchase the portrait at the art show. Will they succeed?
