This is pretty simple:
If you love Harley Quinn then you'll love this. The episode of this has a great deal, yet they get away with a bit more than you can in a kid's cartoon. It is one that I would pick up to read just to enjoy again and not to even pass time.

I'm still a baby when it comes to comics. I've only been reading them for a year give or take and I'm even newer to the DC world. I have never read a solo batman comic or a superman comic and I while I don't really plan on changing that I absolutely love Harley Quinn and she is the reason why I decided to leave my comfort zone of Marvel and venture over to DC. The more I read about her the more I fell in love with her. She is honestly one of the greatest characters I've seen. She is so incredibly complexed and layered and even though she appears on the surface as absolutely insane there is so much more to her than that and she is actually incredibly relatable at times. I know she's far from innocent, but seeing how Joker treats her breaks my heart and it hurts even more when you realise their relationship is an extremely accurate portrayal of a real life abusive relationship. It really breaks my heart because Harley does deserve so much better. I also think this is one of the oldest comics that I've read, but it felt like it could have been published yesterday which I think is amazing and shows how ageless the story it's telling is. Anyway, while I still don't think I'll be picking up any Batman solo comics anytime soon I did really enjoy this - well I didn't enjoy seeing my girl Harley so broken, but you know what I mean.

The Batman Adventures: Mad Love is the first book to feature Harley Quinn in it (before I get some annoying comments about how I’m wrong, yes, she first appeared in the Batman: The Animated Series episode “The Joker’s Favor”, but this is the first BOOK she’s featured in). In my opinion, it’s one of the best Batman comics I have read so far. In it, Harley tries to impress the Joker by capturing Batman on her own, everything gets messed up, the Joker is mad at her, the end. It’s great, but fairly short. Also, just so you know, “deluxe edition” means in this case the entire story in sketches. So that’s cool.

tw // mentions of abuse

This is the second Harley Quinn-related story that I read, and it was heartbreaking to see her getting verbally and physically abused by the Joker. A common pattern that I'm seeing is that at the end of the story she gets infatuated again even after realizing how horrible he is, which is actually common among survivors.

Read for the "A Book with 'love' in the title" prompt from the PopSugar Reading Challenge of 2019. I'm not the biggest Harley Quinn fan, and I knew this was her origin story, so I thought maybe it might endear the Clown Prince of Crime's girl to me. Unfortunately, it did not. The art is fantastic, she's beautiful, the Joker and Batman are classic looking, but the story just... wasn't for me. I understand why it's iconic, though.
