I really enjoyed this. This book is all about shifting (hence the title lol) your perspective on many negative thought patterns or actions to more positive ones that help you come into alignment with yourself.
There were many things I needed to hear and many things that were good reminders. I highlighted a few parts and I am sure I will be referencing them when needed.
I loved how the main focus of this book is focusing on yourself and your needs and making yourself you're number one.

I’ve listened to a few of these influencer audiobooks and realizing they’re all the same book but in a different font

I am not the target audience of this book. I’ve been in a relationship since I was 20, married for 8 years, and I have no idea who Tinx was.
But I do like to keep myself well read, and I consider this type of book research for my counseling career - I strive to find good books to offer my clients. So when Simon and Schuster offered to send me a copy of this book, I agreed.
And I think this is a decent good one. This perspective is basically CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) light; the whole concept is reframing your thoughts (which is a main tool in CBT). I use it often in my practice because it IS helpful. And I think Tinx does a good job identifying why you should reframe your thoughts using her own experiences and offering a positive reframe.
My main criticism is that I do wish there had been a disclaimer in the beginning of the book that stated this is not a substitute for therapy. CBT and reframing is a great tool, but not everyone can wield it own their own. I’m glad that Tinx brought up her own positive experiences with therapy and CBT as that’s important in and of itself, but again, a shift on “it’s ok to need to use therapy” could have also been included.
Ultimately, for very specific clients I think this book can be used as a supplement on reframing. However, it is not for everyone and some people may have unrealistic expectations for dating and their own capabilities for reframing.
