Mothman is not monstrous enough.
Connective tissue of the book was weak.
Will not be continuing this series.

DNF.
I honestly cant stand influencers like this and she got on my nerves. Idk what the moth man would see in her. She's a city slicker who moves to the mountains, which already annoys me. I just couldn't enjoy it.

It’s a fun book but honestly the epilogue and the mystical otherworldly stuff was what I was looking for that was at the end of the book.
I think I am also someone that wants less cozy vibes and more actionable fantasy stuff fantasy. It’s a very casual read so I can’t fault the author for my preferences.
Anyways, it’s been fun but not sure I’ll continue for the rest of the series.

I was slogging through this book and finally decided that it wasn't worth my time. I started with the audiobook but had to swap to the ebook because the narrator would confuse words with similar words, "pursue" instead of "peruse", for instance. It may seem innocuous but obviously that changes the intent of the sentence. But anyway- I found the characters to be inane, and the story itself just materializes with little cohesion. I'm glad there are readers who have fun with this, I'm just not one of them.
This was such a good time, I loved absolutely every second of it. Though I feel like the plot has a few cop-outs, I can see why the author made the choices she did. It even has me in a bit of a reading slump because all I want to read is the sequel!

I LOVED this. It was so cute and heartwarming, and it gave me some serious Twilight vibes with the flower field. I think I might be in love with Mothman too 😅
Heather took me a second to come around to, but she eventually became really likeable to me. Moth is grumpy and romantic, and their relationship was so much fun to see develop. It was a slow burn, but not too slow. I thought it was perfectly paced, and all the big moments happened when they should have.
The stakes at the end of the book felt like they were relatively high, and I was really hoping Chris was going to get his ass kicked. He sucked and I made many notes reflecting that in my copy lol.
