Similar to the first book, I enjoyed the plot of the book, but the romantic aspects of this fell flat. I probably won't actively seek out the next one unless the pairing sparks interest in me.

I loved the characters and their journey, but I wanted the romance to develop a little more beyond rebellion against her father, and I felt like a lot of the real character growth happened off page in the last 5ish% instead of throughout.

I liked the premise, just didn't like what the author did with it. It's a quick, easy read but the dialogue was awkward, the writing was repetitive, and I felt like there could have been for nuanced characters.
