Thank you Harper Perennial and NetGalley for the eARC of In A Not So Perfect World! All opinions in this review are my own.

I loved Love Buzz so I had high hopes for In A Not So Perfect World and it delivered!  I loved Sloane and Charlie's interactions and how they navigated being on vacation with a virtual stranger.  There is a nice balance of funny and spicy.  I can't say enough good things about Neely Tubati Alexander's writing and I can't wait to read more from her!

This book helped me get out of a slump! Really enjoyed the characters and the vacation trope
I just wish they hadn't wasted the shared bed trope when the setting was perfect for that

"It's far too rare to look around and be in awe of what you see."

we are conflicted folks.

One one hand, subplot is highly misogynistic. On the other hand, it's fiction and
karma handles that
.

On one hand, this book coulda been about 150 pages shorter if there was even a sliver of honest communication by MC Sloane. So many cowardly lies and lies of omission. On the other hand, this is not unique and really the case for more romance novels than not when centered around twentysomethings. I was under no duress at the lib when I grabbed this one.

Rounding my Switzerland 2.5 up to 3 because it isn't Neely Tubati Alexander's fault that I have Funny Story on deck and just wanted to get this over with. By no means a hate read, also not a book I'd rec for my friends' TBR.

In conclusion - the beginning was slow and the middle was goooood and the end was rushed. The setting fulfilled a reading challenge prompt. The characters were well developed and kind of amazing. Despite the giggles here and there, In a Not So Perfect World fell flat for me.

"Love suits her."
