4.5 stars. Fantastic book and truly paved the way to make the “self-help” industry what it is today. This book is, in many ways, timeless. And if you read any non-fiction book in your lifetime, this should be on your short list.

The brilliance of this book isn't the advice alone. I have, and I'm sure you have, heard most of this advice before. The wisdom comes from the combination of the various pieces of advice and the relatable stories demonstrating their feasibility throughout the book. It was genuinely interesting enough to read that I didn't want to put it down, and I feel like it really did equip me better for life and relationships. I think one of the things that surprised me the most about this book, was that rather than just advocate doing a bunch of things, the author was advocating a change of heart in the reader.

The first 3 parts felt like a parent's honest advice delivered with the at most honesty and care. The last part was a 100% leadership 101. In other words all I needed especially now. I'm happy I read it at this particular time.
