This book is outdated and sexist and racist, but with many kernels of truth related to the topic at hand, and some good action steps.

Favorite quotes:
"I don't give two whoops in Hades."
"Ridiculous? Absurd? You are privileged to think anything you like"
"All this takes time, but 'Good manners,' said Emerson, 'are made up of petty sacrifices.'"
"If a person makes a statement that you think is wrong--yes, even that you know is wrong--isn't it better to begin by saying: 'Well, now, look. I thought otherwise, but I may be wrong. I frequently am. And if I am wrong, I want to be put right. Let's examine the facts.'"

What Dale Carnegie does not call for the manipulation of others for one's own benefit, but rather the opposite, gently prompting us to take an other-centric mindset. We should be hearty in our praise and lavish in our approbations directed toward others, for no one can thrive without these things.

Similar in some ways to 'The Intelligent Investor' by Benjamin Graham. The book is heavy and focused on actionable advice, there is many examples and anecdotes examining the advice.

A respectable read.

It just seemed like common sense stuff in the main, but took too long to explain each point with a myriad of examples, most of which were unneccessary.

This was fun! This book is more about how to be nice to people genuinely. I like that this book reminds readers that too persuade people, you have to be a caring human and you have to let the needs of others come first.
