This book made me end on wtf
Then another epilogue came out, and it made me wonder what had just happened. I loved the plot twists and the emphasis on these characters. Thank you to Colleen Hoover for making another amazing, 'Can't Put It Down' book.

So, when I started Verity, I was thinking, this isn’t nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. I thought, well I guess Colleen Hoover isn’t that bad of a writer. But then about halfway through, I was really struggling to continue. Maybe it’s because I already knew exactly what happened, but it didn’t feel very suspenseful to me?

I’ve recently started reading more mysteries and thrillers and I’m always so elated when I’m not in the loop, when I’m guessing about what happens next. Even knowing the plot of this book, the parts I found shocking weren’t related to the thriller part.
The most shocking part is when Lowen lifts her pelvis up to keep Jeremy’s sperm inside her? A man she’s only just met really?? Yuuuuuck.

This is my latest attempt to try a Hoover book and it will likely be my last. The idea of the book was good but I think the pacing and execution make it unrealistic. The FMC is 32 yet acts like a high schooler in how fast she falls in love with a man she doesn’t know. I feel like if the timeline was spread out more it would make the story more realistic but that’s not the case. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this book.

Rating: 4/5 stars

Lowen is hired to finish a popular series written by Verity Crawford—but all is not what it seems.

This one has been on my tbr for years, and everyone was always shocked to hear I hadn’t read it, so I thought it was finally time to rectify that. Overall, I enjoyed this—it was entertaining and definitely kept me on the edge of my seat and reading to find out what would happen next.

This is also a super twisted and disturbing book, and I honestly hated every single character—fortunately I’m usually okay with that when it comes to thrillers. Without spoilers, there is of course the issue of THAT ending (and the bizarre bonus chapter in the Collector’s Edition, which I’m honestly not a fan of). I know this is controversial (to say the least) but I think I’m actually Team Letter…

CW: Death/child death; blood/injury; violence; car accident; child abuse

Well.. this book consumed me to the point I physically couldn’t put it down. Dark, sinister, twisty, suspenseful, captivating, thought-provoking, addictive, completely jaw-dropping, breathtaking.. the list could go on. Verity had to say the least some pretty fucked up chapters where I literally through the book away from me I was so disgusted. I wanted to claw my eyes out with what I was reading, yet it had me going back for more. It is incredibly well-written but I felt the ending was a bit rushed. I haven’t read anything like Verity before and I have read a few CoHo books but this is definitely different to anything else she has written.
