Secrets and lies collide with the bonds of friendship that's coated in blood through accidents and murder. There's lots of twists that unfold as we experience dual timelines through Margo's POV of life before and after the disappearance of her roommate and best friend, Lucy. But does Lucy's death have a connection to Margo's high school best friend, Eliza's death, or is Margo really unlucky in the friendship department?
I really enjoyed the build-up of tension. Of questioning the characters' motives, guilt, and innocence.

Out of the 4 thriller/mystery books I've read from Stacy Willingham, this one is my least favorite and I think it's Stacy's weakest story. For context, I listened to the audiobook. Karissa Vacker does a great job as always, but the story itself did not really pull me in. I thought the pacing was so slow and the 3 timelines were a little confusing at times (could be an audiobook-only issue). While the story picks up towards the end, I didn't find it redeeming.
Plot points were getting very repetitive as the book went on (with no new details) and Eliza's cause of death takes SO long to reveal which I don't think was necessary. I didn't like any of the characters and I didn't find myself really rooting for any of them.
This was quite a step down for me from All the Dangerous Things but Stacy's next book, Forget Me Not (releases in August 2025), is a huge step up.

3.5 stars, this was not as fast paced as I was hoping. Overall it was a fun and twisty story, but the conclusion kinda fell flat for me.

Another great thriller! A slow-burn psychological thriller about a young woman in college and her friends - creepiness and murder ensues. Full of twists and turns. A little long-winded but still a great read. Loved the twists. I enjoy this author’s books, they are all good.
