I'm up to date with Reacher again (until the paperback for In Too Deep comes out in March). I generally always enjoy jumping back to when Reacher was in the army and this was no exception. This was a good addition to the series and takes us back to around the time that Reacher was demoted from Major. I enjoy seeing the differences in how young Reacher responds to scenarios and comparing it to how current day Reacher might respond.

Not nearly as good as other Reacher stories. The last 3 chapters were captivating, but before that it was slow, and uninteresting.

Engaging. Exactly what you expect.

Reacher novels are losing their charm for me. Too much of the same.

Jack Reacher rarely disappoints. Back in his Army days this time, with a murder or 8 that he will solve and avenge. Obvi.

This book is set in 1992 when Reacher was still in the Army and his brother Joe is still alive. It’s the Reacher of old. The story is involved and long, but the book went by fast. There is less emphasis on the women characters and their involvement with Reacher than some of the books. He was too busy to fool around much. I highly recommend it.
