I love Jack Reacher and I'll stick with him but this wasn't my favorite.
Still not the Reacher I grew to love, but not as bad as the previous 3 books by Andrew Child

This is great.
I think it's kind of odd that "The past" for Reacher is 1992 while "the present" is the current present and the thought of a man who is probably in his 70's is walking around dispensing justice is... a little strange.
But, that doesn't matter.
I liked that this has a couple of twists, they really worked well I thought.
I hope more Reacher novels of this quality continue.

I don't know why I bothered. Andrew Child has destroyed the Jack Reacher franchise. This book is a solid 1 following Lee Child's usual 5 start standard. Poorly written and an obvious plot.

My boyfriend loved this one, I thought it was the worst of the Lee/Andrew collaborations. So, sue me.
This was just a little too predictable if you ask me, which you are probably not going to do. Where as Lee's solo Reacher books were linear, and Andrew's books were more violent and convoluted, this had neither. I loved both, but this sort of just made a deadline.
Time to go back to the starting block.

My gut says that because of the way the book was written, The Secret, could easily be a follow-on series for the Reacher series on Amazon Prime. This isn't to take away anything from the book. In fact, I hope the book is made into a series. You know, because in The Secret, Reacher is at his best, knee deep into a mystery that makes no sense.
Members of a research team that hadn’t been intact for decades are dropping like flies. After two faux suicides, a team of investigators in trouble (not a good start), are engaged to find what is believed to be a serial killer. Then it gets worse, much worse.
When the last of the team is murdered no clear suspect arrives and the plot begins to twist and turn. The ending is novel and delightful.
A subtle reminder to a Reacher foe is there is no place to hide or run.
This is a great read that you will enjoy. -Tom L.
