there’s a part of me that kinda wishes i’d stopped at the end of the trilogy so i could live in ignorant bliss. this book somehow managed to upturn every single good thing about those books (but not in a bad way). i know everything has to go wrong before it can be right again, but i just want everyone to be okay and happy!!
i love love love being able to know what Noah’s thinking because we haven’t really up until this book. and i know he was really going through it and had his own problems throughout the trilogy, but this book really highlighted just how bad everything’s gotten for him. at times it felt so incredibly heavy. (and i didn’t expect to feel so called out like i did whilst reading)
if there’s anything that Michelle Hodkin is fantastic at, it’s leaving a book on a massive cliffhanger. i really wasn’t expecting this one and i’m excited to see where it goes in the next one.

Good. Not amazing. Weird pacing; it started off agonizingly slow, and then sped up suddenly in the middle so fast I think I suffered whip lash. Loved the characters, as usual. Became thoroughly confused by the end, though.

I was really disappointed by this book, the Mara Dyer series was amazing - so when I started this one I expected so much more. The story dragged a LOT in the beginning and really didn't get going until the last 10% of the book for me.
I don't know if I'll read the next one, but as for that last minute twist? I liked it - the Mara/Noah dynamic needed a shake up and this provided that.
This author could really use a new series to restart and refresh her inspiration in my opinion.

Nie že by to bolo úplne zlé, ale... autorka sa nemala pokúšať o ďalšiu trilógiu. Celkom sklamanie. A to som Maru Dyerovú považovala za fakt dobrú YA.
it may be my fault for not re-reading mara dyer before reading this, but I really struggled with this book. i would find the thread and follow it for a couple chapters, then lose it again. as for the ending, no spoilers because im not entirely sure what happened or what was admitted. im just confused.
I'm so bummed to give this one only 3.5 stars. There were a few parts that I really enjoyed, but some were just confusing and did not wow-ed me. I had so much hype for this book, so I can't help but be a little disappointed. I just hope that the next one will be much better

Die Mara Dyer Reihe habe ich regelrecht gefeiert und verschlungen, weil die mir einfach alles gegeben hat, was ich mir von einer Jugendbuchreihe wünsche. Umso gespannter war ich auf die Fortsetzung, die dazu noch aus Noahs Sicht sein sollte.
Unbedingt die Mara Dyer Reihe zuerst lesen!

Ich weiß noch nicht so genau was ich nun von dem Buch halten soll. Grundsätzlich war es gut und hat mich sehr gut unterhalten, aber wirklich viel passiert ist nicht und teilweise war es etwas wirr und ich konnte nicht ganz folgen. Noah ist wie wir ihn kennen und es war irgendwie cool seine Gefühle und Gedankengänge zu sehen. Ich fand es spannend zu erkennen wie sehr er Mara liebt und vergöttert und wie sehr er Daniel vertraut. Wie er aber Geheimnisse auch für sich behält. Er ist so wirklich de klassische und typische Broken Bad Boy. Ich liebe ihn.
Wer mir nicht so gut gefiel war Mara. Ich habe sie kaum wiedererkannt und mich durchgehend gefragt, ob sie so auch schon war, als man die Geschichte aus ihrer Sicht erlebt hat. Ich fand sie undurchsichtig, egoistisch und irgendwie Gefühlslos. In vielen Szenen zwischen ihr und Noah habe ich dieses Prickeln nicht mehr gefühlt und gespürt.
Ich habe das Buch in drei Etappen gelesen und die haben sich für mich so angefühlt:
1Etappe: wirr, Mara und Noah waren seltsam, ich habe mich nicht so wohl gefühlt und oft war es irgendwie awkward.
2Etappe: vieles wird erklärt, es kommt ein roter Faden, die Spannung steigt, ich bin voll gecatched!
3.Etappe es wird wieder etwas wirrer und zieht sich ein wenig und man fragt sich langsam, wann etwas richtiges passiert.
4.Etappe zack bum ende omg okay? Ich habe zwar nicht alles verstanden aber omg!

Ich mochte Daniel uuuunheimlich gerne, neben Noah ist er wohl mein secretly favorite Charakter! Was mich etwas gestört hat, war das Fehlen von Erwachsenen Personen. die Kids machen alles selber (ja okay die haben Jamie) und irgendwie konnte ich das nicht ganz abkaufen.
Also alles in allem hat es mir gut gefallen, mich aber nicht umgehauen. Bin gespannt wie es weitergeht.
