adventurous relaxing medium-paced

Arguably Chatwin’s most famous and enduring work, which a reading makes clear why.
adventurous reflective medium-paced

While I thought it was a solid read overall it was paced bizarrely, at times meandering through old tales and histories while completely skipping over vast parts of his own travels. Overall it felt like many disjointed fragments put together, although they were largely enjoyable fragments nonetheless.

So I wenr into this expecting a little more about the environment of Patagonia and not the people in it. But it was still interesting and I enjoyed listening to it :)

This was the first book I bought on my Kindle when I switched to a Kindle, I did start it but as with discovering the myriad of cheap books available it was lost amongst the deluge of daily and monthly deals. I discovered the book was available on Audible and had a spare credit so plucked for it and finally have read it via whispersync.

What a superbly enjoyable book it was, some wonderful stories and fantatsic charcaters. It is no surprise why this book is held in such esteem. It does make me yearn to visit a place that has a Welsh interest with the people who relocated many moons ago. Patagonia has always been somewhere I have wished to visit. Perhaps this book has drawn me one step closer.

It is one I am sure to return to many times.
