I have spent the last 3 years trying to figure out what the hell this book was called but now that I finally found it and reread the synopsis I just remembered that the reason it stuck in my mind for all these years is because I hated it. Well.

I read this series about a decade ago as a kid and loved it. Rereading now, and still love it. Also, it's inclusive of POC.

Even though I'm no longer part of the target demographic, I still find myself coming back to the Zenda series, given the fact that the first book I own is falling apart from the amount of times I've read it since my mid-teens. I still find value in these simple books about a girl on the journey of finding the shards of her gazing ball and learning more about herself, the people and the world around her. I recommend this series to anyone who enjoy simple tales of self discovery and magic.

I read these in elementary school. I don't remember if I read all of them, but I remember really loving the cover art, and all the girls wanted to read them so they were hard to get out.
