This one's useful insofar as Godelier does the work of trying to reclaim kinship from the death knell that was struck from Schneider. Godelier reinforces the need of "theorizing" kinship through its critical connections to social structures - economics, politics -- etcs from which it cannot be divorced (at least in contemporary societies).
