“As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.”
 5⭐

i hate you john. i hate you for making me laugh and making me cry.

i lovedddd this book so much. there's this feeling when you're reading good books that i can't explain. augustus aka gus is amazing and the way he and hazel took care of each other was so sweet.
and then he died, and i was crying. why'd he have to die?😭
anyway, i highly recommend this book as it was so so sad but also so bittersweet. you seriously need to read this.

I did enjoy this book, however less than the other John Green books I have read. Because of their illnesses there were times when not much was happening and I really wish he used those times to become more descriptive, so the pacing felt off at times. Near the end, again, I saw where his writing shines in tragedies and unfortunate circumstances. I would have given this book 3.5 stars but I really feel like the pacing just before
Gus’s death
could have been more descriptive or discussed more of Hazel’s thought process as she was
pre-grieving
.

It was a really thoughtful book. Not quite like anything else I've ever read and probably not quite like anything else I will ever read. It really made me think. Honestly, it was a really good book and the characters stayed with me for weeks.
