i need to touch grass after that ending bc that was too cheesy for my taste. why did it also take tiny until the last 15% of the book to finally become a decent guy omfg. i also wish we’d had more interaction between the two will graysons

another fabulous john green book, at first I wasn't too sure about this but OMG I FELL IN LOVE. The whole message at the end about falling and landing is sort of what happens when you read books (like this one). You'll just have to read it to find out.
What can I say about this? I'd heard so much from about it and it was getting all kinds of good reviews even from my favorite book blogger but I just have to disagree. Maybe if the book was about Will Grayson or the other Will Grayson I would have liked it more but it wasn't. It was about Tiny Cooper. Tiny is a large gay boy who is the linch pin for the two Wills. He is best friend to straight Will and romantic interest to gay Will. Tiny Cooper more than anything is annoying, self-centered, and inconsiderate. He uses people when he needs them and then drops them when there is someone more interesting around.
The funny thing is, I started off this review with three stars. But that was just too much. I guess I should talk about the Wills.
Straight Will thinks that not caring and shutting up is the way to get through life. Gay Will is depressed and angry. That's pretty much all there is to them. Sure they develop a little but only through the help of a crappy friend: Tiny Cooper.
Anyway, I wanted to like this a lot more but I just didn't. I'm really happy that some people did and got some hope from it, wish I was one of them.

Can’t stand writing without proper punctuations and written in all lower case.
I might have to read this again because I'm really still undecided on if I liked it or not. Perhaps since I was so up in the air about it, I should take it as a sign that I really didn't enjoy it. I'm really not hard to please so when I am indifferent or unsure about something, that's when I know something is off.
There were many aspects that I liked. The character "Tiny Cooper" was really the reason why I stuck around and continued to read it because I loved him so much. The other characters were really boring to me. The first Will Grayson we are introduced to was so obnoxiously annoying. He really just bothered me on a super deep and probably biased level. His character arc really never seemed to be that much of an arc at all.
The second Will Grayson introduced was much easier to handle and easier to feel sympathetic for when things start becoming increasingly sad for him. He was much more relateable than the first.
I appreciate the LGBTQ+ themes in this book. They aren't in your face hokey, stereotypical. The characters were not Glee-type caricatures which is refreshing. I also was glad there wasn't an overly obsessive "BEING GAY IS NOT A BAD THING!!!!!!!!!!" message in the story as well. Homosexuality seemed to be a thing that happened and was accepted in society, as easily as heterosexuality.
I liked the book. It was alright. But it wasn't the magical or incredible journey I was hoping to be taken on.
