DID NOT FINISH: 15%

not 100% sure what i really didn't like about this book, but i feel like the mc has so much judgement of everything and just hateful. i feel like maybe that isn't even true for the book, but it still somehow bothered me.

A nice read! Especially the end was damn great.
The Jane and Will relationship was a bit annoying for me and Maura as a character was barely used, she had so much potential.

I would have loved if she would have accompanied Will and Gideon to the concert, would have not harmed the story in any way at all.

Also, it would have been better if we got Will and Maura's reconciliation a bit early and their funny and unique conversations would have replaced Jane and o.w.g in a lot of unneeded romance.

Still nice to read. Now marching to Fault In Our Stars!!!!

Five stars for flawless-as-ever writing from John Green in the properly-capitalized Will Grayson chapters. Minus two stars for David Levithan's lowercase Will Grayson who so realistically embodies a teenager whose whinging puts all whiny teenage heroines to shame.

Will Grayson is alright.

will grayson, on the other hand, is asking for my fist to collide with his face.

You may think that having two main characters of a novel share the same name could get confusing, but the distinct writing styles of the two authors really distinguish one Will Grayson from the other and both have a real-world tangible feel to them. They experience so many relatable issues and the book isn't without its fair share of humour, but in my personal appearance a (not particularly likeable) side character comes in and steals away a lot of the spotlight (*wink*) which felt like it drew away from the narrative of the two Will Graysons (I mean their names are LITERALLY the title).

Emily May's review, which you can read clicking here, is mostly what I feel about this book.

I really enjoyed it, it’s funny and different! However, the story is not about 2 will graysons as much as it is about one will grayson and one tiny cooper! Loved his character and adored the story, but John Green's Will "had no salt", as we would say in Brazil.

Overall, really liked it!

“Maybe there's something you're afraid to say, or someone you're afraid to love, or somewhere you're afraid to go. It's gonna hurt. It's gonna hurt because it matters.”

“When things break, it's not the actual breaking that prevents them from getting back together again. It's because a little piece gets lost - the two remaining ends couldn't fit together even if they wanted to. The whole shape has changed.”

“maybe tonight you're scared of falling, and maybe there's somebody here or somewhere else you're thinking about, worrying over, fretting over, trying to figure out if you want to fall, or how and when you're gonna land, and i gotta tell you, friends, to stop thinking about the landing, because it's all about falling.”

Smart, witty, heart-warming/breaking, honest. Truth and love wrapped up in pages and words.
