the way that this book is so dear to me is unfathomable I felt so attached to all the characters and i wanted all of them to have happy endings and to get through hardship Ugh it was just so sweet even though it’s basically a How to be a graceful and proper lady guide it’s done so well it makes me want to be kind and generous to everybody lol Anyway i relate a LOT to Amy March bless her soul i too want to be great or nothing and try so hard every day to be more than what i was given and ughhhh love her so much !! and laurie my dear boy they could never make me hate you 🫶 anyway loved loved loved one of my fav classic now

A standard classic that should be on everyone's shelf, especially if you've ever lived with women.

This is a book from my childhood and it was so sweet to be reunited with the Marches and escape all the film beats.

My most notable take away, in my adulthood reading, was being thoroughly understanding of Jo's refusal of Teddy (as a youngster, I couldn't understand it!).

My second takeaway was all the preachy qualities of this book and the continued moral lessons. I think it is it's own version of Pilgrim's Progress.

Yet this story will always be dear to me and will always offer a hopeful look of what family and community can be.

Definitely became one of my favourite books! A lovely book full of lovely people. I loved following each character but Amy has to be my favourite as I most related to her
