Enjoyable but should probably be read in small doses. The preachiness about "being poor builds character" and "work is good for the soul" gets repetetive. However, the characters are interesting and there's a bit of (low key) love triangle drama with Laurie/Jo/Amy. I watched the 2019 movie and enjoyed it more than the book.
