Read this when it first came out and fell in love with the story!

Seems I disagree with most reviewers. I wasn't a fan. I found the characters generic and one-dimensional. The need to pair up every character was a little overdone. I was just bored throughout, and I found myself skipping pages just to get to the end. However, the writing wasn't all bad, so I didn't drop it to one star.

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

I generally really enjoy Lori Foster's writing, but I didn't connect with this story as much.
A bit too surface-level and sweet.

A good book, dealing with an issue close to my heart, and with characters that will make this a great new series!

When Honor Brown moves in next door, Jason Guthrie can tell just by looking at her that she's going to be nothing but trouble. Except..... She wasn't. It was instant attraction, rather dry dialog, and Jason constantly pushing Honor for more than she was willing to share. Honor comes deeply damaged from a rough childhood, abandoned by all except her Grandfather; while Jason is perfection embodied. The relationship, and thus the story-line, felt very uneven.

THEN, we get Sullivan (neighbour across the street) and Lexie (Honor's best friend), and their instant attraction and semi-love-story. More sex-becomes-feelings than an actual love story. NEITHER of these "love stories" felt like we had enough time spent on them to fully develop the characters, or their emotional and romantic story-lines.

Kinda disappointing over all. But, I still want to see what happens with Hogan and Nate, and their respective love-interests. I just wish the author had broken each of these love stories into it's own separate book, and given each of the sets of characters the full attention they deserve.

Lori Foster knows how to create that magic. The sense of forgetting where you are and being transferred to another place is something that I always feel when I pick up one of her stories. I received an ARC of Don't Tempt Me by Lori Foster in exchange for an honest review. This sensual novel gives a peek at two sides of the spectrum. We have Jason who has reliability written all over him. The way he looks after his family and community are a bonus in his favor but the way he looked after Honor who was wary and insecure of herself gave me heart palpitations. He was a keeper. Fast forward to Sullivan. He was somewhat of a tougher nut to crack but his hard edge did not hide his true self from the people that mattered most. Inside the pages of Don't Tempt Me there is love, hope and charm wrapped up in sensual package.
