I really, very highly, enjoyed this book. Murder mysteries are not normally my cup of tea because they very easily become thrillery. And I do not thriller at all. That was not the case with this book. There were twists and turns from start to finish. Just when you thought you had something figured out, it would twist again. I don’t know if it’s the island they’re on or what, but it was giving me “Lost” vibes. I really enjoyed it, I don’t find it at all predictable, and it kept me guessing through the whole thing.

Points for originality for sure.
Characters were a bit too one-dimensional and the delivery of facts was a little clunky, but that could just be the whodunnit style. Overlaid with the necessary post-apocalypse worldbuilding it was all just a bit much.
But overall enjoyable, well plotted, and wholly unique, from the premise to the use of Abi as a storyteller.
