A very cool murder-mystery story on an island surrounded by killerfog. Emory had to solve the last murder before the fog sqallows the island in full.
Nearly everything is great, setting, characters, dialogue. Only the mystery isn't fully satisfying. But still a great book. I love that Turton keeps writing these very original out-of-the-box murder mysteries.

I chewed through this book in a little over a day. It was fun, mysterious, new, exciting, and entertaining the whole way through.
I'm just a casual fan of mystery novels, so take this for what it is - figuring out the who of this novel isn't nearly so interesting and exciting as the how, why, and what's next. There are plenty of turns, plenty of unexpected moments, but every bit of it is earned. That's what's important to me in a mystery, and this book does it and does it well.
Definitely worth checking out, and one I'll be sharing with friends.

This may be my favorite book of the year! Stuart Turton's 3rd book, and I'm hooked. I'm ready to read anything he puts out.

Did not like the sci-fi aspects of this. Wasn't what I expected. Would have been good for someone who was more interested in a basic sci-fi thriller with a mystery that you can't solve on your own.
