Whew. That was certainly something. Starting from page 50, per say, this book got really intersting, and there were 3 moments that made me want to scream (of course, I couldn't, being at school and all). I love Raisa's fierceness, Han's cleverness (and his magic are improving FAST), but I also really liked Amon. In the "love triangle"-or if you can even call it that, I can't say who I like more together because both of them are heart-breaking. What took away the 5 stars, however, was the underwhelming ending. A lot of things happened near the end, but then the last 15 pages or so was meh. I just felt like it could have ended in an explosion awesomeness and I didn't really get that.
My favorite part was probably when Han and Raisa first met in the stables, because from book 1, you're anticipating them coming in contact, but when it actually happened, I closed my book and just smiled for about 5 minutes. I think my classmates think I'm crazy. Anyways, now I'm going to finish These Broken Stars so that I can start Fairest.

RATING: 3 stars.
A bit meh and too much like Harry Potter for my taste.
The romance seemed forced as well.

I think I figured out what it is about this series that I am not crazy about - sure there is alot of politicking going around, but what really gets me is the character building, or the lack there of I should say. Han is slightly better than Raisa, but half the time I feel like they are moving around without real drive. Like, they are Sims rather than fully developed people/characters.

As a stunning sequel to the Seven Realms Series, Cinda Williams Chima continues doing an excellent job in growing her world and allowing us to see our main characters in new settings. We finally are able to see the relationship between Han and Raisa grow together and apart, as well as their individual growth. The ending only solidifies the overall series plot even further and there is progression that I can't wait to see continue in the third installment.
Amongst the greatness of this series, I do have to admit some of the flaws in this book and it was the slowness some parts were given that motivated me to taking reading breaks. But even though it was slow, it was written with reason to give us more understanding and I didn't completely hate to see it. The relationship buildup was also not as detailed as I expected. Raisa fell in love with him rather quickly (though realistically in a span of four months) and I personally really wanted to see more moments that connected these two further to convince us of a startling and timeless romance.
But this series isn't over yet, as well as their relationship so I'm excited to seeing all the secrets unfolding.

I found the first part of this one to be slow (much as in the first book in the series). However, it picked up in the second half. It's certainly not the best fantasy series I've read, and I'm not particularly attached to the characters. But I will probably still continue with the next book, as I'm interested to find out what happens.
I love this series so much,it's a new favourite of mine. I can't believe I waited so long to pick it up!

The Exiled Queen is interesting but not enough compared to The Demon King. I read the first book from cover to cover in one night, it was that exciting and gripping.
With The Exiled Queen, I wanted the plot to speed up in certain parts. Days would go by before I picked up the book again because I'd be in a part where there wasn't much happening to the characters.
Still, I'm a huge fan of the series. Cinda Williams Chima is a gifted writer and I can't wait for the next book. I have come to love Han and I'm looking forward to the time he realizes his full potential.

Another excellent book by Mrs. Chima. Was staling a little finishing the last few pages. Can't wait till book three.
