The whole book was wild and I couldn’t put it down
Excellent read! This picks up right where The Demon King left off and continues to follow the lives of Riasa and Han over the next year. There is good set up for a next book, and I'm looking forward to reading it!
I am in love with this series. The world is so fascinating. The different cultures and the uneasy balance of power is so interesting to read about. This is not a plot heavy book. This is setting up for what I expect will be an explosive last two books. I love these characters and I can’t wait to find out what is going to happen next.
I know that this book came out a while ago, but I’m just getting around to reading it now. This honestly has been one of the best series that I have read in quite a long time in terms of plotline, characters, complexity, Etc. I have gotten so attached to these characters and I feel as though I am apart of their story and they are part of mine. This is exactly how it should feel when you’re reading a book.
Hats off to Chima for managing to capture such a wonderful story with well-developed characters and an interesting storyline. The lore that has been built in this series thus far is magical, no pun intended lol. This is a series that I will be recommending to all of my fantasy reading friends, and I am grateful that I’ve gotten to experience myself.

I like the characters in this story but I get really tired of 2nd books in a trilogy that are almost throw away books. Ready for the third book.
