Though Han and Raisa were separated for a majority of this book, it was still filled with adventure. I found the first one to be better. This was a little boring to me, just with them being in school and traveling.

Updated after reading the third book:

This book does a fantastic job of leading up to book three. I understand why Chima did everything she did and I love her for it.

Was hoping for a little more excitement after the first book but overall a good read and looking forward to more

Pretty off putting at first going from political intrigue to wizard school but after it gets going, it goes hard

Incredibly slow paced coupled with excellent writing and characters resulting in a mixed bag full of highs and lows.

This well written series continues to shine, with an independent and fallible and unselfish heroine who grows and fascinates throughout. The minor characters are also fascinating, and the twists and turns of the story keep you interested. Quite long for junior secondary, but will appeal to good readers of all ages.

THIS WAS GREAT. I IMMEDIATELY BOUGHT THE NEXT BOOK ON AMAZON. THE KINDLE IS GREAT FOR INSTANT GRATIFICATION.

MAKEOUTS ARE THE BEST.
