I did not care for it as much as One of Us is Lying.
It could be because it's hard to replicate the feeling of an original.
It could be because of the pandemic and I was hoping for something less "humanity sucks" than this.
It could be because all these kids allowed this to happen because they were once again sheep who followed the crowd.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, eh, I'm going to avoid this sub-genre of YA for a bit I think.

(3.5 rounded down) Once again - a fast-paced read that I couldn’t put down when I picked it up, however I struggled with getting through the first 70ish pages. While the sequel was good overall, once again I felt as though there was a lot less focus on the ‘mystery solving’ aspect than in #1 which I didn’t particularly enjoy. I enjoyed Maeve’s POV while Knox and Phoebe’s were questionable at times, but I appreciated the integration of original characters. Once again, focus on bullying and gossip makes it feel normalised, although I understand that’s kind of the point. While it kept me guessing early on, you know how it’s going to end at the 70% mark. Suspense wasn’t built up as well, but great plot twist in the final two pages - which, funnily enough, felt unfinished.
Did this book need a sequel? Not really. Does it work anyway? Sure, if you want it to

There aren’t many books you can finish in 36 hours while home alone with a baby and a toddler. In a couldn’t put it down but also definitely still taking care of everyone way.
I kinda of feel like there wasnt a reason for a sequel
