Obviously, this was a beautiful book, but it made me sad. Which some of the best books do. But now I can say I've read my first Shel Silverstein.
I think I read this book a million times when I was a child and then just the other day I picked it up again and read it to my niece and fell in love with it all over again. This book is about a tree who will give a boy anything to make him happy. I think many people can relate to this book because there's always that one person who you would do and give anything for.

My absolute favorite book of all time! I have probably read this 1000 times. I have bought multiple copies over the years for myself, for friends and family as gifts, and I bought each of my kids one when they were born!
The classic story read to me as a child that I still read to my students. Its message is still as relevant and thought-provoking as it was when Silverstein first wrote it... if not more so!
