This is probably one of my most favorite stories of all time. I read this book now as an adult and it brings me close to tears every time. Oh how selfless that tree is throughout the entire book!
I grew up with this one. Then life imitating art my Tree gave me a friend, a place to write, a cane, two pens, and tons of beautiful photographs. 💚🌳
Dangerous and cruel to teach kids that giving too much of themselves makes them a good person. Sets them up to be abused and otherwise taken advantage of.

The book is supposed to be sweet but it made me really really sad. The message is so disturbing and self destructive. It made me tear up, but not in a good way.
