Not only is it visually stunning (I may have bought it solely based on the cover), but it is also a good handbook to feminism and understanding privilege (although through the eyes of a conventionally attractive, thin, able-bodied and white woman). At the beginning I found the topics helpful, however it was more directed towards single women. As the book went on, it talked about many more topics that I am excited to learn more about. I was worried it would be like reading blog articles, but it was more in depth than I was expecting. Of course there is so much more that can be learned about most topics, this was a great start. Definitely a book I want to keep on the shelf for my future children to flip through.

1 star- dnf at 51% (skimmed to the end afterwards) was all over the place (more like a tangent than a book) and also very repetitive in a lot of areas, the contents of this book could have easily been covered within half of its length or probably less. SO needless to say it was pretty boring. It was more of a relationship guide than anything else. I also didn't learn anything from it, which was kinda the whole point of me picking it up so that was a bummer. Well, ok I did learn how to state the same thing 36827 times, so thanks for that ig.

Absolutely amazing!! An eye-opening book that everyone should read, especially for those starting their journey into feminism and improving themselves. Easy to read and super thought provoking!
*Content warning: this book does talk about sexual assault in some chapters, but Given has put a warning each time it's brought up :)

Is okay, een redelijk instapmodel voor feminisme. Weinig nieuwe informatie of reden tot nadenken voor mij. Wel indrukwekkend dat de schrijver pas 21 was toen ze dit schreef.
