This got off to a very slow start for me. Very repetitive and chock full of tortured, meandering metaphors. The second half was like a whole different book - much more concise and engaging.

Aside from the glaring plot hole, the story is good and the suspense definitely ramps up towards the end.

The fact that Jessica ended up being Christine’s employee by sheer coincidence was both ridiculous and disappointing. I thought there was a missed opportunity for something more interesting there.

I had high hopes for After the Wedding based on the intriguing premise, but unfortunately, the pace was too slow for my tastes. Even after reading 100 pages, I was still unclear how the story would connect to the synopsis. I stuck with it for as long as I could, but ultimately decided it wasn't worth my time.

I enjoyed Christine's storyline more than Jessica's. But the whole story kept me pretty captivated throughout the entire book.
I do not necessarily think that "psychological thriller" is an excellent description of this book. I would place it in the crime or thriller category.
It would be an excellent book for people who enjoy true crime or are trying to ease into thriller or psychological thriller books!

Triggers: PTSD, Panic Attacks, Infidelity

After The Wedding takes you into a journey which is hidden in the deep recesses of the mind. Memories are a strange thing. At one point you remember them vividly and the next moment they are only a glimpse.
Christine an advertising executive has painstakingly built her agency with her husband and is top of her game. Suddenly her life changes when Jessica enters into her life. Nothing is the same and how their lives changes is something you need to find out by reading this novel.
The novel is medium paced suspense. There is some back and forth timelines but nothing is confusing to read. I did not connect with any characters but enjoyed the plot of the story. Once I got into the story it was hard to put it down.
Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for the ARC of this book.

This book just didn’t capture me at all for some reason. I felt like it just had way to much going on and to many characters. I do believe it had the potential to be a great book but I feel like it got sidetracked by someone.

The pacing is just all wrong for me in this book, it takes a sharp turn but just not in a good way. Just not for me
