The Metamorphosis is one of the most impressive pieces of literature I’ve ever read. There are many interpretations of it, but for me it was clearly about the treatment of the chronically ill in a family setting and in society.
I don’t think I’m much of a Kafka person, but I liked Metamorphosis. In The Penal Colony, and The Stroker
Metamorphosis was cool. The next 3 short stories were underwhelming to the point i just didnt want to finish. Will be checking out the The Trial soon tho!

I'll be honest I only read The Metamorphosis because that's the story we read back in high school and this was part of a challenge for me this year to read books that I remember reading in school.
I enjoyed this though Kafka's writing gets a little long winded at times because he likes to ramble in his writing.
I specifically remember this because we were studying metaphysical writing and had a really good discussion of whether or not Gregor had turned into a bug or perhaps had something mentally happen to him to make him think he'd turned into a bug. Re-reading it I would almost say that he'd had a stroke just because of the physical description of how he drags his body around. No one outside the char-woman mentions him as being a bug and I don't necessarily trust her as a reliable character. Still gives plenty of food for thought.
