It's okay, but it is simple and lacking in any coherent story or meaningful character personalities or relationships. Everything feels very ambiguous and distant in how it's written. It feels like it meanders a lot, but it is wonderfully detailed and I liked Wilbur and Charlotte.

As a child, I was always a little skeptical of this book for the sole reason that there was a spider on the front cover. To my mistake, I didn’t read Charlotte’s Web until I had to for a project in eighth grade. This book is written with love and a warm heart and that is what makes it one of my favorite books I have ever read. I’ll admit I judged Charlotte, the spider, on the outside but once I read and got to know what Charlotte was like on the inside, my outlook on this book was forever changed. Charlotte has a pure, sweet, and caring sole that helped me to realize that everyone can be a radiant, terrific, and humble human being. The messages that are learned in this sweet book about friendship are not only those that children should take away from, but adults as well.

This was my first "chapter book". I read it in the 3rd grade and loved it. I grew up watching the animated movie which is also wonderful!

Charlottes Web is a favorite read-aloud in our house!
