full of nostalgia and will forever be one of my favourite books. was the first 'big book' I read by myself after having it read to me many times before and was incredibly proud of myself. this book will always remind me of reading with my grandmother and quickly set me up for a lifetime of loving books.
The movie was better. Scratch that.

When I did read this all those years ago, I did enjoy parts of it. But I was a bit biased because I had already seen the animated movie (not that Dakota Fanning crap).
In retrospect, I am not sure what I was suppose to learn from this book. I know that E.B. White is often thought to be an intellectual (he has excellent quotes) but when reading this book, I didn't get an actual message or anything. Perhaps, change is good?
I will say, though, that in both the movie and the book, I was very upset with the ending. And I wasn't too pleased with Fern.
