This book has a great premise. It's creepy and grotesque and leaves you wanting more. But that's about all the positive things I have to say about it. I hated the characters to the point my mind would wonder and I'd have to reread which made me even more irritated. Add that on top of a stream of consciousness type of writing that is at its best edgy and at its worst extremely annoying. There was more than one time I almost threw the book across the room in frustration.

Perhaps, had this been a novella in a writing style less like tripping over bricks I might have enjoyed the terror of the Funhole more. But, alas, I was left unhappy and still annoyed in the end.

Soft DNF. I couldn’t staaaaand being in the mind of our main character Nicholas. There’s a difference between ‘unlikeable’ and insufferable characters and I found his inner monologue to be the latter. Might just be right book wrong time I’m still very interested in the plot so will try again some other time.
