A fascinating and mysterious little book! Picked this up randomly in a bookstore and after looking at some of the quotes and reading the first page, I decided to buy it. It's hard to describe what this book is or what it's trying to do, but it was gripping from the start and it's one I'll want to return to one day.

Surreal, yet it feels like history. Should be required reading for lgbtqia+ individuals.

This book was incredible - the kind of book that makes you think more broadly about what it means to tell a story. It plays with truth and fiction in such a fun and interesting way, without ever feeling like it’s compromising the narrative or the memory of the subjects who populate it.

This book, which I saw somewhere described as “experimental fiction,” used its atypical components (erasures, pictures, photocopies of books and ads, etc) to situate the story, even in its fiction, as something very real. Most of all, though, it masterfully worked through what it means to be erased - from history, from the record, from the context that makes all of your stories more rich and full. It takes erasure, as well as memory, and mines them both to get to a story that feels entirely new.

Intimate, dreamy, gothic

Addressing literal, metaphorical and historical erasures of queer history.

"These two alien senoras, delighted in how softly I spoke, how shy I was - though they never said outright. I don't know how I knew what I knew; some unspoken knowledge, communicated through the warmth of their indulgence"
