5 years later and Reese is now a nurse persuing midwifery. One day she gets a call from Rory that has her racing back to Colorado.

Wow, this was messy, complex,  and heartbreaking. I had so many complicated feelings about the second part of this story. This is a second chance romance in a really unique and different way.

Reese is now 24 and has had time to find herself and persue her passions. She has been to Thailand on a missionary trip, briefly engaged, and found a passion to be a midwife. She is so much more mature and self assured. Her world comes to a crashing halt when
she finds out Fisher has been in an acicdent.

I was so mad at everyone around Fisher after they discovered his amnesia. I know that it was out of love, but they kept pushing him and never gave him the space he needed. Reese was the only one who allowed him room to breathe and be in the present. Everyone else wanted to drag him back into the past. I completely understand wanting him to remember, but give the man a little time would ya?!

At first my heart broke for Angie, she has loved Fisher for so long. BUT after reading the chapters from his POV and the epilogue, I didn't feel as bad. She was very manipulative. She cherry picked the memories she shared with him, conveniently leaving out the most important one, ya the one where he had broken up with her! Brutal!

I don't know if I would truly classify this as cheating. I mean yes he was "engaged" to Angie, but he has zero memory of her, so eventhough her feelings were real, he had none. His heart never really belonged to her, especially since they weren't really engaged when he has the acicdent... It's a fine line I guess.

I love that Reese gave Fisher the space to rediscover their love instead of pushing it on him. They had such an intense connection that overcame insurmountable odds.

Tropes: second chance, age gap, forbidden

i liked this one a lot better than the first one. i'm going to keep my review short & sweet because i don't want to spoil anything too much. with that being said, i loved the growth within Reese. i 100% think you should go in blind to both because i did & i loved it so much.

Much better than the first book. Still felt like it was very anti-christianity, but it wasn't as perverse and offensive.
