I think this book could have been much better if it were longer and the story had more time to develop. Getting to the end so quickly made it seem more like a tv episode or a short limited series that was missing some pieces.

Good police procedural audiobook. Great actors make this come to life. Kept me engaged but very predictable.

Audible sucked me back into their service with this...I won't stay more than this month, but still.
Love the production, the acting is stellar, the story is mostly cliche and predictable, the dialogue moves back and forth from clever to cliche. Overall, it was fun to hear Jessie and Jane back together, but otherwise, this is a miss for me.
Ok, fun, but not worth a second trip through. It is worth the $Free if you are already an Audible subscriber.

This was the perfect audiobook to listen to while getting some chores done. A fast-paced mystery with full-cast narration and an intriguing story.

A pretty crushable thriller set in Chicago. Also read by Aaron Paul and a slew of other great actors.
I love the audio drama format because it's like old time radio shows. The cast did an outstanding job, but the story wasn't all that exciting, although it did have it's stellar moments. If I was rating the book only, I'd give it 3.5 stars, but the actors' performances bumped it up to 4.
I listened to the audible version of this and I really didn't like all the sound effects they used. It's like they were trying to make it like a movie or something with lots of overlapping sounds in stereo. I don't need to hear all the footsteps, doors opening, and music etc. It was just too distracting from the story and really annoying. I'd rather listen to the story like normal. The voices were all good but the story was short, not quite 4 hours. I saw that it was a prequal to a series with 3 books. The story reminded me of Blue Bloods and I think I would like the series but I definitely will just read the books.
