This book was an excellent start to my year.  The narrators were perfect and will forever live at the top of my favorites (January LaVoy and Joe Arden). There was a great mix of spice and plot, with fun side characters and it wasn't full of traumas that left me wrecked. I really needed a great book like this.

Starting off the year with a solid romance! I loved Cord he is sweet, supportive, and desperately in love. I appreciated Pearl’s drive and vision for her life. I wish she had opened up to Cord sooner though especially because of their history. Because of that, the resolution of the third act conflict was a little too quickly tied together. I wanted to see that wall come down sooner so that there was more time for conversation and growth to be involved in the resolution. I loved the dual timelines though! It was fun learning their history at the same time as seeing the relationship develop. This one was not as strong as The Fastest Way to Fall but I enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Cord was seriously one of my favorite Denise Williams MMCs! And I loved the computer science related storylines and the flashbacks to explain the characters’ history with each other. :) This was definitely one of my favorites of hers. At times it felt a little repetitive with the main conflict and the characters would kind of talk in circles about it without anything in the plot changing, but otherwise I really enjoyed this one!

Adored — a great second chance romance with lots of yummy steam and a slate of adorable supporting characters. Dual POV audio was great!

I started watching the tv show Suits while reading this book, which was an amazing coincidence because this book feels so much like that show. Basically, if you love that show (like I now do), then I know you’ll love this book like I did!

Denise Williams took the classic boss/assistant trope and made it really sweet. It was the perfect second chance romance! I absolutely love when we get to see flashbacks of their first try at love together and then how they actually get together in the present.

The characters were well written and dynamic. Pearl’s journey with the job as an assistant while working through to school to end up heading a company made me proud to watch her story arc throughout these 384pages. I also loved seeing Cord grow into his own at his own company. Together, they made a great team. Plus their great chemistry made the romance great as well!

I also loved the non-binary representation. It was really refreshing to see a character like Tye be so influential to the story. Their mentor-mentee relationship with Cord was honestly adorable! I hope that Cord takes them to California.

Thank you so so much to Denise Williams for sending me a copy of this book to read for the Spicy Group (iykyk)!
