The gore was a retreat from the aggravating men that involve themselves in her life. less revolting and more fascinating as she describes the texture and taste of the blue eyes she consumes. It's seen through the eyes of a very flawed, very mentally unstable, young Korean girl who has a lot on her plate.

ji-won sweep!!!!!!! her finally killing George before setting Geoffrey up to take the fall was beautiful to see😌 i was worried she’d get caught but she’s too smart for that. im sorry I ever doubted you queen

i would’ve rated this slightly higher if ji-won and Alexis had kissed or something bc there was clearly something going on with them- or at least with Ji-won bc she had an obvious crush on her lmao, but either way I enjoyed this a lot

Pacing of this book is insanely fast paced. It was something I really needed. However, it is not the scariest or the most disgusting horror I have read. I think the possible terror was greatly reduced to create the pacing. The story is very simple and wraps up a bit too nicely. Saying all that it was simply FUN TO READ. I liked the themes, I liked the main character portrayal and all the little mischief she was doing before the events of the book.

This was great characterwork, definitly more on the side of literary body horror.
I felt it was all going a little too fast in the beginning, and in the middle I felt it was dragging a bit, but in the last third I could not wait to know how it all unraveled.
I thought I was a little disappointed by the ending at first, but it ended up turning back around.
I personally think it's lacking a little in the logic area, but other than that, I really liked it.

I feel like I've read a lot of fun but not particularly well written horror so far this year and this was a breath of screwed up air. Twisted, unexpected and asking some moral questions. Into it.

I enjoyed this one - not a top pick for me, but I think my main issue was the pacing. I struggled in the middle when nothing had quite happened yet. Loved the ending
