Okay... I feel like, since the revelation of Akito being a girl, my feelings about this manga changed a lot. Most of the other plot twists were really surprising and interesting, but this one I really didn't like. And it changed the ways of the story. It's kinda sad, to show that you can only be the head of the family if you're posing as a boy... Also, I feel like this was used just to explain why Kureno and Shigure are close to Akito. I'm able to empathize with most of the characters, after learning their stories, but with Akito is difficult to do so.
I never really questioned the couples, but now that things are probably pointing out to Tohru+Kyou and Yuki+Machi, I'm really not pleased. I like their dynamics, but not as couples. (I feel like Machi was only added to the story as a plot device and to give Yuki growth). I liked to the see the character development on both Kyou and Yuki, but I feel like Tohru's personality was a bit too changed. I don't know.
But... I still like reading about the other characters. Yuki and Kyou, as I mentioned before; Momiji (baby), Haru, and so on. Since I'm almost reaching the end of the series, I'll probably just finish it to see what's going to happen. And maybe I'm being too critical? If I'd read this a few years ago I might've liked it more, but now I think I have more readings to compare. I don't know. Still hoping for the best.

chapter 114:
i hate people who stay with others just out of pity like that’s so disgusting.
i think it’s normal for Shishou to be worried that Tohru might be pitying Kyo but it’s so clear that she doesn’t and she would never do that

This volume is full of so many negative feelings and so much pain. I feel sorry for the characters who have lived under these burdens for so long.

Seeing the way her parents treated Akito makes a lot of sense. Once again, we see the result of bad parenting. Ren neglected her, but Akira did her no favors by telling her that she was more important than all the others. She's now a person who lives trapped by her own ego while the rest of the world moves on without her.

I love the fact that the bond simply breaks. I love the way it's represented here with Momiji. That's the experience for some victims of child abuse. One day they realize they don't fear their abuser anymore, and that behind the fear there was truly nothing more: no love, no respect. Their abuser is this insignificant person they can simply leave behind. I also love the fact that, for Momiji, this all comes with the realization that he will never have his family back the way he wanted, but that's okay, he'll have his own family one day. And he simply moves on. I love that for him.

I really don't know how to feel about the ending though. I guess it will depend on how that revelation affects the rest of the story.

!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am speechless.
I can't even write a rubbish comment review about this because anything I say will be to big a spoiler. In the beginning I thought it would be more about Kyo and Tohru, but after the end that is relevant anymore. I'm glad though, I think I can see the end coming now. I was little annoyed about the way Kagura pressured Tohru and...that all I can really say about that. Akito's situation is seriously messed up, and that's all I will be saying on that to.
