Not quite a five because it’s not going to change how I live my life or think about things but it’s definitely memorable and fantastic.
It reads more like a thriller than nonfiction. If you’re claustrophobic or don’t like water, avoid this. I love diving but chapter two got me nervous describing how you can die deep diving. And I don’t deep dive!
I loved learning about the discovery of the U boat and how they identified it and all the risks they took. Well written and conversational but respectful toward dead sailors, German in WWII or not. Highly recommend (again, if you’re ok with water and enclosed spaces and near death)
