I absolutely loved this enchanting read! I got completely swept away in this book and loved every second of it. The real world faded away, and I was pulled into the twisty and complicated fae realm. I couldn’t get enough of it.

While the fae are fascinating and beautiful, they’re incredibly dangerous. Their world is one that's filled with trickery and deceit, games and making deals. It was an oddly beautiful yet cruel place.

The mystery of the mortal queens had me so intrigued. Why did the fae need them? What happened to the previous queens? Was there a way to change their fate? While we got some answers, I’m very eager to find out more in the next book. It can’t come out soon enough! If you’re a fan of fae-filled fantasy, you’re gonna love this story! I highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed this one, but it felt like we never got more than skin deep into the story? I love messy Fae lore, but this wasn’t messy enough for my taste. If The Cruel Prince crossed too many lines for you, this book is probably perfect for you, but it didn’t quite do it for me.

THIS BOOK IS SO GOOD!!
I am so grateful that i received an ARC copy. This is a YA book with zero spice.

This is a fast pasted book with so many twists and turns. This book is about a girl who is chosen to be the mortal queen to the fae. It is an honor to the mortals to be chosen. Their family receives money, and they get to be a queen. Each year, a new mortal queen is chosen. When she gets to the fae lands, she realizes that not everything is as she believed. She and all fae wear masks, deals are currency, and tricks are up everyone's sleeves. There are 7 fae kings, different fae houses, faes have glass hearts that can be broken, and some paintings have messages.
This book kept me entertained, and I could not put it down. There is some romance sprinkled in, and definitely deciet and betrayal like any good fae book. I can not wait for the next book. I have so many unanswered questions.

I enjoyed this book. It was an interesting take on fae and their world. I liked seeing how the magic system was working and how the curse was put into place. It’s an intriguing idea that helped keep the pace going. There’s a decent amount of world building, though I’d hope for more as the series continues because I

Althea was a good FMC. I liked that she was unlikeable and had a buuunch to learn. Occasionally she was a bit too immature for me, and by the end I’m still not actually quite sure how I feel. There’s definitely room for growth in book two.

I liked the romance, its sweet and a nice slow burn. I think this book is more geared towards a younger YA (which is completely fine, just mentioning). I’m curious how the series will progress.

Overall audience notes:
- YA Fantasy
- Language: none
- Romance: kisses
- Violence: moderate
